This last week has been incredibly tough.  Last Friday, Cory had another seizure at home – and had to be taken back to OSU.  The tumors and swelling in his brain called for more radiation. After 4 treatments, and much contemplation, it was decided that the radiation was causing more pain to Cory than good.  On Tuesday, Cory and his doctors decided it would be best to stop all treatment – and to focus more on his comfort and happiness.

On Wednesday – Cory and Angie decided there would be nothing better than having Cory be in the comfort of his own home.  They discussed this with Cory’s team of doctors at OSU, who worked hard with hospice to get him all set up and transferred.  On Thursday afternoon, Cory came home. Since then, it’s been quite the whirlwind of family, nurses, big meals, and loved ones in and out. All this has sure worn him out!  He has been eating well, and staying comfortable and loved.

We are all broken that this disease has taken such a toll on Cory, but we are VERY focused on doing anything and everything possible to keep him comfortable.  As you can imagine, Cory wants to see all of his loved ones.  We ask that those who would like to see Cory let us know ahead of time so we can plan around the nurses and his strength.  The medications have the tendency to make him a little anxious – so to keep him calm, and hopefully seizure free, it would be best if his loved ones hang out in the kitchen/garage and visit him 2-3 at a time, for short stints.

We cannot thank you all enough for the constant love and prayers.  We have just hit one year since Cory’s diagnosis, and the support everyone has provided hasn’t wavered in the slightest. We have visitors daily, meals dropped off nightly, and prayers prayers prayers.  We continue to reap the benefits of all the love surrounding Cory, and ask that you keep him in your prayers.  To quote the matching tattoos that Cory and Angie got in Vegas “Love is enough”.

Love is enough
